I THOUGHT I WAS GONNA BE SACKED.
Ever made a mistake at work that made you think, OMG, I’m gonna be sacked? I have.
When I was an intern at a record label, one of my tasks was typing up the label copy. For a very well-known act, I made a typo that turned a seemingly innocent name into… rather an offensive title. 😳
And yes, it went all the way to print. To this day, I still have the CD single (showing my age here!) as a reminder of that mortifying moment.
I’m sharing this story because I know how much pressure women in music face to deliver flawlessly. The stakes feel high, the spotlight unforgiving, and mistakes? They can feel like career-ending moments. But here’s the truth: we’ve all had those slips. The important part is how we recover, learn, and keep showing up with resilience and determination.
Whether it’s a typo, a missed opportunity, or doubting your voice in a room full of egos, these experiences don’t define us—they shape us.
Ladies, what about you? Have you had an “OMG what have I done?” moment in your career that taught you something valuable? Let’s share our stories and support each other.
