UBER & LYFT DRIVERS - LISTEN Up!
A polite request to Uber and Lyft
I spend a lot of time in your cars as I choose not to drive in LA. I have my passenger options set to ‘Quiet Preferred’. This is also my choice.
I’m a warm, friendly person who likes to meet new people. But often I’m multitasking on that ride and concentrating on my life and what I need to get done; so, I would prefer quiet.
However, all too often I’m subjected to a persistent driver who wants to tell me about their views on politics, religion, race, what is wrong with America / UK or try and ask me lots of personal questions about why I’m living in LA.
This is always an unsolicited experience with a male driver. It can be late at night and as a lone female passenger this can feel quite intimidating, especially when they’re dropping me at my home address.
Please STOP! 🛑
Your drivers’ vehicles should not be a platform for them to spout their opinions and questioning on a captive audience.
